MyMuse.Studio is a writing platform at mymuse.studio. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. We have written it to be read by writers, not decoded by lawyers.
What data we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. Your password is stored as a one-way hash — we cannot read it. You may optionally add a display name and biography to your author profile.
Manuscript content
When you bring a manuscript into MyMuse.Studio, we store your text in our database. That text is the context your muses work from — it is the core of what the platform does.
Waitlist and contact submissions
If you submit the waitlist or contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the message you send. We use this to reply to you and manage waitlist access.
Usage and log data
Our servers record standard request metadata — IP addresses, request timestamps, and error logs — for security and debugging. This data is not linked to your manuscript and is retained for 30 days.
How we use your data
Manuscript content and AI processing
When you have a conversation with a muse, the relevant passages of your manuscript are sent to our trusted AI providers to generate the muse's response. This is how your muse reads your book and gives you grounded feedback.
Your manuscript is stored so your muses can search it instantly. When you ask a question, the most relevant passages are retrieved and used as context for the muse's response.
Your manuscript is not used to train any AI model. It is not shared with other users. Your content is processed only to provide you with the MyMuse.Studio service.
Account operation
We use your email address to send transactional messages: account confirmation, password resets, and — if you join the waitlist — access invitations. We do not send marketing email unless you have explicitly opted in.
Payments
Billing is handled by Stripe. MyMuse.Studio never stores your card number or full payment details. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status so we can manage your account tier. Stripe's own Privacy Policy governs their handling of payment data.
Infrastructure
MyMuse.Studio runs on secure cloud infrastructure in the United States. Your account information and manuscript content are stored there.
Third-party sub-processors
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to deliver the service: AI providers that generate muse responses, cloud hosting and storage, an email delivery provider, and Stripe for payments. These providers process your data only to deliver their part of the service, under standard data agreements. They do not use your manuscript to train AI and do not share it with other customers. We do not sell your data.
Data retention
Your account data and manuscript are retained for as long as your account is active. To delete your account, contact us at hello@mymuse.studio. When we process your request, your manuscript and all data derived from it are removed from our systems. Some billing records may be retained for the period required by applicable law.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at hello@mymuse.studio. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific data rights (such as the EEA or California), additional rights may apply — contact us and we will assist you.
Security
We use industry-standard practices: HTTPS for all data in transit, passwords stored as one-way hashes, secure session tokens, and access-controlled cloud infrastructure. No system can guarantee absolute security. If you become aware of a security issue, please contact us at hello@mymuse.studio.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date of the most recent revision appears at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will notify active users by email.
